Why DNG Chartered Accountants should be part of your financial life

Staff interview – Caroline

I joined the firm just over 20 years ago as Secretary and is also the company Credit Controller.

What are your interests outside of work?

I am very passionate about animals and support various animal charities as well as supporting Australia Zoo in the protection of Tigers.  In my spare time I like doing DIY, gardening and following Liverpool Football Club as well as watching the old Hollywood movies especially John Wayne.

What are your favourite travel destinations?

I like to travel and have been to many countries but trekking in the Himalayas in aid of Cynthia Spencer Hospice culminating in a visit to Agra and the Taj Mahal in 2006 was the highlight.  However Australia is at the top of my wish list and I hope to visit there in the not too distant future.

What charity events have you taken part in?

Having done a few parachute jumps as well as sitting in a bath of cold baked beans and having feet in custard as well as the trek all in aid of charities, my opinion is that you have to make the most of life – we are only here for a short time so live it.

What is the next charity event that you have planned?

I am now undertaking an abseil down Northampton Express Lift Tower – the one thing that terrifies me and has done so for many years.  This is very important however because it is in aid of The British Lung Foundation and in memory of my husband Colin who passed away from Asbestosis in November.  Publicity to raise awareness of the risk of asbestosis is of paramount importance to me.
